About Me

My roots are in New England.  In Massachusetts to be exact. ( actually I was
born on Long Island but I’m willing to ignore that fact for the moment).  Now I live in in northern Italy.  It’s a long way from Pilgrim Rock.  A lot of things are different here…the food, the language, the driving, the culture, the driving…  but it’s not the differences I think about the most..it’s the similarities.  The people I know here are just like the people I know there- just a bunch of regular people thinking about work, home, kids and taxes.

This blog isn’t about an American transplanted in Italy…I’m not living under the Umbrian sunshine running a bed and breakfast out of my rennovated farmhouse.  I live in a smoggy suburb of Milan, I work full time, I have two small kids and my in-laws live upstairs.  Like I said, just regular people. Here’s a look what we do, food I like to cook and what life is like here in Italy.  It’s probably a lot like your life in the States (but without Walmart).

Saluti,

Eileen
